Hi I’m jim this is my Ten uncommonly used Filipino words.

 Many Filipino words are comparable to those in English and other languages, there are also a handful of words that are not often used in regular conversation. 

These words, while not as often used, are an important element of the Filipino language and offer insight into the culture and history of the Philippines.

The Filipino language, also known as Tagalog, is the national language of the Philippines. 

This is the ten uncommonly used Filipino word:

Abakada – This is the traditional Filipino alphabet, which consists of 20 letters. “Ang mga bata ay natututo ng abakada sa paaralan.” (The children are learning the alphabet in school.)

Adhikain – This means “goal” or “aspiration” in Filipino. “Ang adhikain ko ay maging isang doktor.” (My goal is to become a doctor.)

Agimat – This refers to a charm or talisman that is believed to have magical powers. “Si Maria ay may agimat na nagpapalakas sa kanya.” (Maria has a charm that gives her strength.)

Bangungot – This is the term for a nightmare or a bad dream. “Hindi ako makatulog dahil sa bangungot ko.” (I can’t sleep because of my nightmare.)

Dali – This means “quick” or “fast” in Filipino. “Kailangan ko ng dali dahil wala na akong oras.” (I need to be quick because I have no time.)

Halimaw – This means “monster” or “beast” in Filipino. “May halimaw sa ilalim ng kama ko.” (There’s a monster under my bed.)

Hapagkainan – This refers to a dining table or a place where people eat together. “Gusto ko ng magkaroon ng hapagkainan sa bahay.” (I want to have a dining table at home.)

Kaluluwa – This means “soul” or “spirit” in Filipino. “Ang kaluluwa ay hindi nakikita ng mga tao.” (The soul is not seen by people.)

Larawan – This means “picture” or “image” in Filipino. “May larawan ng pamilya ko sa sala.” (There’s a picture of my family in the living room.)

Pangangalaga – This means “care” or “attention” in Filipino. “Kailangan ng pangangalaga ng mga magulang sa kanilang mga anak.” (Parents need to take care of their children.)
